One reason why I removed https from this place was to keep the AI crawler bots out. It worked until recently.
Said crawlers have been DDoS'ing the reverse proxy server that translates the subdomains to their respective servers.
ßThis massive influx of traffic has caused the server to fall on its face, killing access to all sites in the process.
By removing the reverse proxy, the load can at least be separated, and leave the not-so-fucking interesting sites accessible.
